Children in Need total raised= £2027.85!!!

Following a week of sponsored activities, ranging from hopping and skipping to dancing and wearing clothes inside out, our school managed to raise a staggeringly large amount of money for Children in Need. Our School Council reps took all the donations to the Cheese and Grain in Frome, where they took part in the “Great School Run” event hosted by BBC Radio Somerset.

After giving Pudsey a HUGE hug, they were interviewed by Claire from BBC Radio Somerset (listen in to the podcast to here us!!) and also met Emily Diamond (Olympic bronze medalist: 4 x 400m relay Rio 2016) and Amy Williams (Winter Olympic GOLD medalist: skeleton!!) who allowed the children to hold their medals (they were VERY heavy!). It was a very busy and exciting morning with the Midsomer Norton Band playing music and other children from local schools joining in the fun.

Back at school everyone wore something spotty for the day and there was a special visit from Pudsey who arrived just in time for playtime.

Mrs Battersby had promised to wear wellies full of baked beans if the school raised £500 – so with such a huge total of four times that much there was no escape and Mrs Battersby gave out the certificates during celebration assembly in wellies oozing with beans – yuk!!

The whole school gave three cheers for everyone that had generously donated such a large amount of money – what a wonderful response from our fantastic school!
