No Pens Day Wednesday – 4th October 2017

Posted on: 6th October 2017

On ‘No Pens Day Wednesday’ we spent all day learning without picking up a pencil or pen! This made our teachers think really hard about how they planned our learning and they came up with some really creative ideas!

Owls Class focused on the art of persuasion and generated creative ways to advertise and promote walking to school without using pencils and pens to produce a poster! After much deliberation and debating of ideas, pupils had a fabulous time filming an advert they elected to produce. Our trainee cameramen and women and our young producers had to call for a fair number of takes to get it right though!

Pupils in Owls also enjoyed a morning maths challenge without a single digit to help them break a code. Lots of mathematical talk was required as pupils worked in pairs to arrive at a solution. The sense of achievement when the code was broken made all the thinking worthwhile though!
