Planting Party

Posted on: 24th November 2022

On Tuesday 22nd November we had our whole school Planting Party where all the children ENTHUSIASTICALLY planted nearly 70 of the saplings donated by The Woodland Trust and

We now have a mini “new forest” including Hazel, Rowan, Silver Birch, Dogwood and Bird Cherry. We have also planted five apple trees, one for each year group, with the aim that children will pick the fruit and eat them for snack – keeping everyone HAPPY & HEALTHY.

Mrs Crawley shared the AMBITIOUS Forest School plans with everyone and showed them where the forest School will be. Mrs Mac, Mrs Crawley and a wonderful group of parent volunteers then helped everyone dig the ground, plant the trees and use the canes and protectors to ensure the trees will thrive during the coming months and years. The School Council are RESPONSIBLE for collecting ideas from each class about what they would like in our Forest School– with a mud kitchen and fire pit being the most popular at the moment.

We hope everyone has enjoyed receiving their very own tree to plant at home. We would love to see photos via Dojo of where you have planted your tree.
