Striving for excellence together

Remembrance Service

Posted on: 12th November 2022

We held our Remembrance Day service in school today at 11am. Joining together as a whole school, we heard poems read by our Year 4 School Council members; Lucy and Sophie read “In Flanders Fields” and Floss and Mara read “We will Remember” – well done to them all! Adrian and Edith laid the school poppy wreath and we all watched the CBBC clip in silence as a mark of respect and remembrance. The artwork, poems and poppies that have been created by the children provided a beautiful backdrop for our service. Miss Cooper is currently transferring the work to a more permanent display so we can continue to enjoy it all.
As always, I was very proud of our pupils and their respectful, sensible attitudes – what wonderful children we have here at Hayesdown!
