The School Day

Morning Arrival

• The school gates open at 8.35am
• We welcome children into classrooms from 8.35am – 8.45 am.
• Registration is taken at 8:45 am when the school day begins.
• It is important for children to be on time for school. If they are late, please report to the school office with them before they go into their class.

Afternoon Dismissal

• It would be helpful if you could arrive after 3.10 pm to collect your child, as the school playground gates will not be opened before this time.
• Learning ends at 3.15pm and children will be ready to leave school after this. Each teacher will ensure that children have their belongings and are safely handed over to a parent or named adult (from the contact list).
• Please notify the class teacher or school office if there are any changes to the collection arrangements of your child as we only allow children to leave the school site with a nominated person.

Length of the school week

From September 2023, Hayesdown School will meet the DfE expectation that all mainstream state-funded schools should provide a school week of at least 32.5 hours.
